I draw to see better, to see deeper, to see the details that surround me all the time. Drawing is a way to see the richness in our world.

Girl with Kite
A project commissioned by my friend for his daughter. It started with a photo with the girl flying a kite on a lawn and I decided to put her in a more whimsical setting so she could enjoy a moment of modern day fairytale.

Start to Practice
Will start my vacation in East Europe in less than 3 weeks. Almost overwhelmed by my own goal which is to sketch all the way, I started to sketch buildings in the countries I'm going to trot through.

Wedding
To celebrate the World Pride, my landladies decided to "mess up their lives a bit" by getting getting married with the other 150 something couples at Casa Loma. I'll be one of the two lucky witnesses. We'll all dress up as Bohemians!

Artwork for CD Cover
Made this illustration for my friend Bob's new CD titled Yorkville's Days. The nostalgic feel of the drawing reflects the retro theme running through his CD.

Downton Abbey Addict
Have been binge watching Downton Abbey. I made myself feel less guilty by doing some sketches of the leads

Bata Show Museum
Picked up my cultural pass yesterday which will give me the privilege to visit most of the museums in Canada for free for a year. Since the Bata Show Museum was just a few blocks away from where I picked up the pass, I decided to flash my pass for the first time. It was a joyful ride in the museum. One pair of the shows caught my attention. They were worn in ritual dancing in Bolivia. I was standing in awe of the craftsmanship.

My First Silk Screen T-Shirt
I made my first silk screen t-shirt last night with my own drawing. It turned out to be really nice. The only thing is it is still freaking cold here in Toronto. Spring is nowhere nearby yet. How I wish I could see some green outside...sigh.

New Jean Jacket
Enjoyed a great afternoon eating and shopping with my friend Lynn. Something smelled like spring in the air today. So when I saw this jeans jacket for $8 at a vintage store, I didn't hesitate :)

This Is Not A Toy
Went to see this awesome exhibit This Is Not A Toy at Design Exchange. It's a collection of designer toys. I enjoyed them all but found myself drawn most to Coarse's "lowbrow" street style toys and Huck Gee's handmade ones, esp. the samurai series. They look so cute!

Painting on Wasted Veneer
I've collected a batch of wasted veneers from our factory. Was thinking of trying this new media for a while. Tonight I dripped my first water colour on it and I like it!

A Reunion After A Long Time
The happiest day since new year -- A reunion dinner with my high school classmate: Zhang Geng. We talked for almost four hours before we realized it was quite late. It was the coldest day that day but it was the happiest time!
