My "New" Bag

Pam bought a canvas bag many many years ago. She didn't like the original red color and tried to dye it into black. It didn't turn out good. She tucked the bag away and only found it again in the basement 2 weeks ago. When she offered the bag to me, I was elated! After all these years it's got this natural distress look that people would pay hundreds for. It's very big, so I'm taking my big sketchbook, lunch, snack, and pretty much everything in it and I still can't fill it full. NICE!

Prepping for Class Assignment 4

Class assignment 4 is facial expression studies and doing a caricature of someone. No one is more qualified for this project than Orange! I met him at Lynn's movie night party. He has such a distinguished look, messy hair, slightly crooked nose, his eyes piercing with intellectual insights. It'll be a fun week doing sketches and drawings of him!

First Acrylic

First acrylic on paper! For some reason the gangster-like feel is missing from the pencil sketch. Maybe I need to change the body color. Tonight I'll remake the piece onto sanded pop can. How exciting!

Tattoo Study

Still working on the gangster concept for the wine label. Got feedback that this is more tribal than gangster-like. More work to do!

Gangster Study 2: Tatto Concept

Still working on the gangster chic concept for the wine label. How about having the wine's name as part of the full body tatto?

Prepping for Class Assignment 3: Gangster Study

The assignment for class three is a wine label design for a vinyard in Niagara Falls called Tough Guyz. The requirement needs the label to be gangster-chic, gritty and rock n' roll. This is totally out of my comfort zone. But I'm excited!

4 Panel Illustration

I'd say this is my first comic book! It only consists 4 panels but it's definitely a labor of love :)

Prepping for Class Assignment: 4 Panel Illustration

Have been working on the 4 panel illustration for a couple of days. I was having trouble visualizing the first panel, but the rest is going very well. So far I like the last panel I did. It's when the girl with pixie hair follows Olive, the dog, to the door and finds herself at the entrance to a fantasy world.

A Winter Morning

The weather is frigid this whole week. But it's so warm to see a mother with two kids walking to the school together in the morning.
