My Friend's Daughter

I've become a huge fan of my friend's daughter. She loves drawing and apparently has an amazing personality too.

Sketch from Memory

I was so thrilled to get in touch with one of my college classmates last night. We talked about our youthful years of college life and of course all those juicy stories of the guys we hanged out with. I even dug out my diary and had a big kick out of it. To continue this joyful night, I sketched from memory a guy I had a crush on. The crush only lasted for a few weeks...unfortunately.

Tuesday Sketch Over Lunch

My talented friend/co-worker Dan brought in the dried apple head he made for today's sketch over lunch session. To make the session more alluring, he buried the pole in a cup filled with chocolate which turned out to be my gift!

2 Little Girls

One of my friends shared this cute photo on WeChat. When I saw it I knew I'd make a sketch of it.

Tuesday Sketch Over Lunch

From past 2 sessions. Dan offered the toy car for yesterday's session. That was fun and I got to play with it with a remote after the sketching. Yes it's confirmed that I can't steer a car, be it a toy or a real one!

Frau Meier

Frau Meier, Die Amsel, a jam I found in Germany and bought it at the gorgeous Lenbachhaus Gallery, my favourite gallery in Germany. Though a friend, I finally found out what this popular children's book is about. What a lovely story!

Sketch on Monday Morning 3

Came across this beautiful car on a pumpkin farm on weekend.

Sketch on Monday Morning 2

Saw a little dead squirrel on the street the other day on way back home. It was a busy and exhausting day but when I saw him, the world stopped for a few seconds.

Cruise on Thousand Islands

One highlight of the two and half hour cruise was to see the Boldt Castle, another heart-breaking love story.

Youth Parade

The funny youth parade at Fort Henry made me laugh very hard. Every time I looked at the pictures I took there I giggled.

Sketches from Movie

I fell in love with the brilliant visual effects and the soundtrack of the new Great Gatsby movie. Above all, it's a movie about the 20s, my favourite period of time of art history.

Skyline

Had a wonderful afternoon sketch session with Lichia. We walked up the stairs to Casa Loma but later decided to sketch the Toronto skyline instead of the castle.

One Day Trip to Salzburg

It was a perfect sunny day for a one day trip. To get to the top of the Festung on top of the hill was a bit of challenge, but the view of the city was all worth it. It was breathtaking. I lingered on the top longer than I expected. But I still managed to make it to some other placed including the little apartment where Mozart was born.

Royal Castle Day

View of Old Town Munich from St. Peter's Church

Before climbing up all the stairs in the church, I had an amazing filling breakfast at the Viktualienmarkt and had my first leberkas.

Taschen Exhibit in Munich

No photos were allowed at the exhibit. So I had to take out my sketchbook to record what bags I liked. Good exercises though! It was an excellent survey of women's and men's bags dating from 13th or 14th century through the modern days. I was especially fascinated by the bags called zoeger used by the Bavarian country women. They were made of straw and leather and they look amazingly modern.
